Once in a Blue Moon

Tonight the moon was very special-it was a blue moon! That means there were 2 full moons in 1 month! This will not happen again until 2015! Did you see it?

Taste the Rainbow

Casey came home last week saying that his work was going to have a bake sale to raise money for their end of the year party. They still needed someone from his department to volunteer to bring a cake or pie, so I jumped all over it! An excuse to bake something fancier than just cookies?! Sure!

So I decided to try making a vanilla cake with lemon frosting, topped with sliced raspberries. The best part? The rainbow surprise inside! And we even added the Sansum logo in sprinkles :)

The Santa Barbara Dog Show

The SB Kennel Club Dog Show just occurred at Earl Warren Showgrounds and you bet I went! I got to go down to the photographers ring and shoot the dogs competing for best in show! How cute are they?!

Meet Tucker and Shep!

I have been watching these two fluff balls for the last week! Tucker the dog actually found the bunny in a field! After a few days of trying to catch the rabbit, the family finally succeeded and turned her into the shelter to see if she belonged to anyone. No one claimed her so they adopted her and she has been part of the family ever since! She has free roam of the house and backyard during the day, is litter box trained, and goes into her cage to sleep at night. How cool is that?!

Did you guess right?

1. Today I ate a CPK bbq chicken pizza that I got for free.

True. A drug rep came to Casey's work and bought the whole office pizza for lunch. There was a bunch left over and he brought my favorite home for me :) What a guy ♥

2. My last pair of work gloves were green and blue and my new ones are pink.

True. I wore out the finger tips in the green and blue ones. 

3. I brushed Penny's teeth yesterday.

False! She does need her teeth brushed (she has poultry flavored toothpaste), but I haven't done it in a while. Maybe soon.

I stumped you guys! Can you fool me?! 

Ring-necked Snake!

Diadophis punctatus

My Dad spotted this little guy today at work and I snatched him up before he darted under a fence. They are mildly venomous but not dangerous to humans. They lay their eggs in the summer and can eat slugs and worms. What a cutie!

Which one was the lie?!

1. I had Raisin Bran cereal and a banana for breakfast.

True. We were out of English  muffins, so I skipped out on Casey making me his delicious eggs and opted for cereal. I just have to have a banana sliced in it :)

2. I just found a new spot of poison oak on my arm.

False. Thank goodness this is the lie! But if it was true, at least I would have this new anti itch lotion to try out! Casey got it for free at his work. The perks of working in dermatology :)

3. I went to my favorite thrift store today and got three tops.

True. Guilty as charged. My mom even came with me! And she always tells me I shouldn't go because I don't need any more clothes. But then we go and I show her my finds and she says "oh that's cute! And it is half off today!" What an enabler! haha jk ♥

So good job Mom and Kori! Let's see who can guess my next one right! Here is another set of 3 for you to ponder. Guess away!

A Nice Weekend

We finally got to sleep in this Saturday, which was much needed. We treated ourselves to breakfast at Jack's Bistro, boy was it good! Then we made a pit stop for donuts :)

Casey and I then headed to the harbor with the little one.

Then Robby surprised us all and showed up at home! We took all the dogs to Lake Los Carneros, played a game of Settlers of Catan, had tacos for dinner, dirt cups for dessert, and watched the Olympics.

On Sunday, we had lunch at the Padaro Beach Grill. Such great weather!

Then we had a bbq before Robby left :)

Today after we were all full from a Chinese buffet lunch, we headed back into Red Rock with all the dogs. They swam and swam....well, at least Sadie and Mandy did....Penny earned a new nick name: Pogo Penny:

We are still working on her swimming lessons ;)
