Happy Memories

Tonight we sat down and reminisced about a lot of the happy memories we have had in 2012. Casey and I each wrote down our favorite events from the last year and shared them with each other.

Cheers to a wonderful, exciting, happy 2013, full of new adventures and family!

Birthday Scavenger Hunt!

So my awesome sister Kori made a scavenger hunt for me to do for my birthday. She gave me 26 clues that led me to taking out baking ingredients; then we made sugar cookies, she led me to the park; and we took Christmas themed pictures, she had me dancing to T swift, playing Pictionary, doing her makeup blindfolded, and she is even going to wash my car and take me out to our fave nom spot-Backyard Bowls! Yay! Thank you Kori for a fun, creative afternoon :)

Thank you to my amazing family and friends for a great birthday!
I got beautiful flowers, yummy banana-blueberry pancakes, lasagna, and blueberry cheesecake!

That afternoon we went target shooting in the mountains, it was a lot of fun!

Oh The Things We Say . . .

Want to find out who said which weird quote? Here are the answers! It was fun seeing what you all guessed :)

Casey said:
#2 "I would still love you even if you only had nine toes."
#3 "It's not about the bike. That's what I always say about photography."
#4 "I feel like such a hipster. I saw Colbie Caillat before she was famous."
#7 "Sometimes I am more tired than I could be."
#10 "I am the snail whisperer."

Sharell said:
#1 "That bird just ran into that life jacket trap!"
#5 "Did I rub my ear in all the way?"
#6 "I am still coughing up bubbles!"
#8 "McDonalds is giving me spiders."
#9 "Do I have a lash in my left ball?!"

Who Said It?!

Game time!

Here are 10 odd/silly/weird/non sense phrases that have popped out of either Casey or I's mouth over the last few months. Try to guess who said what by making a list for each of us with the corresponding numbers for each phrase. Once three people have commented with their guesses, the answers will be revealed. Good luck!

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year we headed down to Carslbad to be with my grandpa for Thanksgiving. We had a great meal, met lots of new people, played bocce ball for the first time, and had a camp out in the living room with myself, Casey, Robby, and Kori all snuggled in sleeping bags.

Our wonderful friends Allie and Leslie took care of our crazy dogs and left us with festive and oh so yummy cupcakes. When we returned home, Casey and I celebrated again with some of his family. We even got to play with the new baby in the family :) What a great holiday!

Today Kori and I took Penny to the park (dressed in her new coat) and collected sticks to decorate a candle. This is how it turned out:

Derbs

Today we took Derby on a hike to socialize him. We went up the Romero Cyn. Trail and he had a great time. He even met Penny, Sadie, and Mandy :)

Meet Boston

This is a dog that you would want to clone. He is so well behaved, friendly, and the softest dog I have ever felt. I have been watching him this past week while his owners went back east. I hope they go on another trip soon so I can watch him again :)

Lee Vining Trip Day 5

That morning we said goodbye to Lee Vining and started our journey home. I had never been to Yosemite before, so we drove through on our way out.

Goldie did great winding through the mountains when she was fully loaded.

Half Dome!

Bridalveil Falls

After making our way out of Yosemite, we made one last stop at Casey's beloved Del Taco before arriving safely back in SB. What a great trip!

Lee Vining Trip Day 4

We started the day with a visit from Casey's great Uncle Augie. He plays golf all the time and showed off his new hole in one trophy. Can you believe he is 98?! Amazing! He seriously looks so much younger.

Uncle Augie and his trophy

Then Casey's grandparents and I hopped in the truck and drove up a mountain ahead of Casey on his mountain bike. It was a very steep climb, but Casey powered up.

That is Mono Lake in the background.

Chugging away!

He made it to the top!

The view at the top.

That evening we went down to visit Mono Lake and take pics of the tufa.

Just when we were leaving the lake, this owl landed near us!

So regal.

Lee Vining Trip Day 3

After a hearty breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausage, and toast, we headed over to Mammoth with Casey's grandparents and checked out some ski shops and explored the town.

Penny loved hanging out in the yard

Lee Vining Trip Day 2

Casey and I started the day with a 22 mile bike ride up into the mountains. Our destination was beautiful Walker Lake, nestled among the aspen and pine trees.

How pretty is this view?!

Later that night we played Phase 10, watched the Giants win the World Series, ate steak and potatoes by the fire, and just when we were falling asleep in bed, we heard a thud right outside our window. We looked outside only to see . . .

A BEAR!

This cub was climbing the apple tree and shaking the branches to make the apples fall. Then he would climb down and have a feast!

Lee Vining Trip Day 1

The weather was great on our first day in Lee Vining-not too hot and not too cold. After a homemade french toast breakfast, we headed out with Casey's grandparents in their old forest service truck and explored the wilderness.

Let the scoofin' begin!

Up on Tioga Pass

Neat rocks in the cliff

We saw our first wild bald eagle!

Lake Tenaya

Penny loved the snow

Wee!

The aspen trees were so pretty!
